Jo Major

Jo Major has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Jo is currently the CEO of SensThys, a company specializing in IoT technology. Prior to this, Jo served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Source Photonics for six years. Before that, they were a Managing Partner at InSite Partners, LLC. Jo also held key leadership roles at Avanex Corporation, where they served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, President, and CEO. Additionally, Jo held various positions at JDSU, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of multiple business units. Jo began their career at SDL, Inc as a Research Scientist and eventually became Vice-President. Overall, Jo Major has a strong background in managing companies, developing products, and leading teams in the telecommunications industry.

Jo Major attended Eureka High School. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from an unknown start year until 1985. Jo then continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1985 to 1986. Finally, they completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1986 to 1990.
