Amer Mirza

Amer Mirza is the Vice President of Disease Biology and Translational Sciences at Septerna, where expertise includes overseeing cell biology, in vivo pharmacology, and translational biomarker strategy for the early-stage portfolio. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President of Biomarker Development at Ascendis Pharma A/S, focusing on integrating biomarker planning into drug development for oncology, and leading biomarker strategy at Gilead Sciences for inflammation and immunology programs as Senior Director. Amer Mirza's career began at Cytokinetics as a Scientist, following a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF Cancer Center and another at DNAX Research Institute. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Hematology/Oncology, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, all obtained from the University of Toronto.
