Jun Zhang has worked in the biopharmaceuticals industry since 1999. Jun began their career as a Ph.D. Candidate at Baylor College of Medicine in 1999. In 2004, they became a Jane Coffin Childs Postdoctoral Fellow, HHMI at Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2009, Jun Zhang joined NGM Biopharmaceuticals as a Scientist II, Discovery Research. In 2012, they joined Amgen as a Senior Scientist, Cardiometabolic Disorders, and later became a Principal Scientist/Global Research Lead/Project Team Lead, Cardiometabolic Disorders, and then a Senior Principal Scientist/Global Research Lead/Project Team Lead, Cardiometabolic Disorders. Jun Zhang is currently a Director, Disease Biology and Biomarker Development at Septerna, a position they have held since 2022.
Jun Zhang received a Bachelor of Medicine (equivalent to the M.D.) from Peking Univeristy Health Science Center in 1999. Jun then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine, which they completed in 2004.
