Efstathios Katranaras

Efstathios Katranaras is a 5G Systems Architect at Sequans Communications, contributing to 3GPP Standardization for NR and LTE-A and engaging in device system architecture with a focus on PHY-related aspects. Since June 2015, Efstathios has participated in several 5G PPP projects, including iNGENIOUS and Flex5Gware, and holds numerous patents. Prior to this role, Efstathios served as a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey from March 2010 to June 2015, specializing in spectral and energy efficiency in wireless networks, particularly in CoMP-enabled cellular systems. Efstathios began at the University of Surrey as a Lab Demonstrator/Tutor from October 2007 to December 2008, where leadership and coordination of student lab groups were key responsibilities. Efstathios obtained a PhD in Wireless Communications from the University of Surrey in 2009, an MSc in Mobile Communication Systems in 2006, and a combined BSc and MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ethniko Metsovio Polytechnico in 2005.
