Ebony Watson

Bioinformatics Scientist

Ebony Watson has extensive experience in research and bioinformatics, beginning as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Queensland from August 2015 to July 2017, where contributions included investigating the effects of Chytrid Fungus Disease on amphibians and characterizing the coagulative properties of elapid venoms. Following this, Ebony served as a PhD Researcher at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology from January 2019 to April 2023, focusing on bioinformatics and computational biology, and later transitioned to a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the same institute, analyzing RNA-seq data related to cellular senescence and human aging from April to December 2023. Currently, Ebony is employed as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Sequins since August 2024. Ebony holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, a BSc Honours in Genetics, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Zoology, all from The University of Queensland.
