Assistant General Counsel at Sequoia

David Finkelstein has a diverse work experience in the legal field. David is currently working at Sequoia Consulting Group as the Assistant General Counsel, a role they started in July 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Corporate Counsel at Sequoia Consulting Group from June 2019 to July 2022.

Before joining Sequoia Consulting Group, David worked as a Legal Counsel at Barclays from March 2019 to June 2019. Prior to that, they were an Associate at Norton Rose Fulbright from June 2017 to June 2019.

David also gained experience as an Associate at Dechert LLP from May 2016 to June 2017. Additionally, they served as a Lecturer in Law and K&E Corporate Lab Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School from 2014 to 2016.

Their earlier experience includes working as an Associate in the Corporate Department at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP from 2011 to 2014. During their time there, they specialized in mergers and acquisitions, structured and leveraged financings, capital markets transactions, and fund formation.

David began their career as a Research Assistant to Professor Lisa Bernstein at the University of Chicago Law School in 2010.

David Finkelstein has a strong educational background with degrees in various fields. David completed their J.D. degree with honors from the University of Chicago Law School in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained an M.A. degree in Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2008. Before their master's degree, David completed a dual-degree program at the W. P. Carey School of Business - Arizona State University, earning a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science in 2006. Additionally, they pursued Arabic & Middle Eastern Studies at The American University in Cairo in 2004-2005 and studied Hebrew Language and Literature at the University of Haifa in 2002-2003.

In terms of certifications, David obtained the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in July 2019.
