Michael Finney

Michael Finney has worked in the genomics industry since 1998. Michael began their career as a Director at Orion Genomics in 1998, then went on to become Board Chair of Sage Science in 2005. In 2007, they joined Vaxart Inc. (NASDAQ: VXRT) as a Director, and served as CEO from July 2009 to October 2011. Michael was also a Director at SeqWell Inc. from 2016 to 2019, and a Director at S2 Genomics from 2019 to 2021. In addition, they have been Board Chair of Thrive Bioscience, Inc. since 2014, KaRNATeq since 2019, and Addition Therapeutics since 2021. Finally, they have been a Director and Permanent Member of The Genome Partnership \u2014 AGBT since 1999.

Michael Finney's education history began in 1973 when they attended Tates Creek High School until 1976. Michael then attended Harvard University from 1976 to 1980, where they earned an AB in Biochemical Sciences. After graduating from Harvard, they attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1980 to 1987, where they earned a Ph.D. in Biology. In 2015, they attended Stanford Law School and completed the Stanford Directors' College program.
