Robert Severinsen

Director of Laboratory Operations at Sera Prognostics

Robert Severinsen has over 10 years of experience in laboratory operations and management. Robert started their career as a Dangerous Goods Specialist at FedEx, where they ensured compliance with international regulations and trained in spill cleanup. Robert then worked as an Inorganic Chemistry Research Associate at Utah State University, focusing on synthesizing and characterizing ligand-metal complexes.

Severinsen later joined ARUP Laboratories as a Technologist II before moving to Sera Prognostics. At Sera Prognostics, they held various roles including Laboratory Supervisor, Senior Laboratory Manager, and Director of Laboratory Operations. In these positions, they were responsible for building and managing CLIA certified labs, passing inspections, designing laboratory expansions, and implementing new technologies for diagnostic tests. Robert also played a key role in the strategic and tactical vision of the growing biotech company.

Robert Severinsen completed their education in the field of science. Robert obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Biology from Salt Lake Community College from the years 2003 to 2006. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Utah State University from 2006 to 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Robert has acquired various certifications in different areas. In 2017, they obtained the Technologist in Chemistry (ASCP-C) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). In 2018, they obtained the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the University of Utah. In 2021, they obtained the ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate certification from ASQ - World Headquarters. Furthermore, in 2021, they successfully completed the Quality Month Challenge 2021 - Levels 1, 2, and 3 program offered by Quality Gurus Inc. Most recently, in 2022, they obtained a certification in "Motivating and Engaging Employees" from LinkedIn.
