Principal Engineer at Serán Bioscience

Wesley Tatum has over six years of work experience in the field of materials science and data science. Wesley began their career in 2014 as a Research Intern at Arizona State University, where they were involved in research on solar cells based on iron sulfide thin films. In 2015, they began their PhD studies at the University of Washington Department of Materials Science and Engineering, where they conducted interdisciplinary research relying on materials science and data science for applied research in organic electronic devices, as well as microscopic and molecular characterization of thin film electronic materials. Wesley also developed open-source toolkits for analyses of data generated by characterization techniques. In 2020, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Washington. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Serán Bioscience, LLC as a Senior Scientist, where they are responsible for designing and executing experiments for manufacturing and analysis of amorphous solid dispersions (ASD).
