Greg Stender

Senior Naval Architect

Greg Stender is an accomplished professional with a robust background in engineering and program management. Stender began a career at GE Transportation as a Project Engineer, where responsibilities included managing the development of a new engine controller and working on marine propulsion and testing. Participation in the Engineering Leadership Development Program included rotations in critical engineering sectors and certifications in Green Belt Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. Stender transitioned to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), serving as Ship Integration Manager for the DDG 51 Hybrid Electric Drive program and later as Machinery - System Engineering Manager for the Ship to Shore Connector Program, overseeing vital aspects of power generation and mechanical systems. Currently, Stender holds the position of Senior Naval Architect at Serco since August 2025. Stender earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Penn State University, alongside additional graduate-level studies in Cyber Security at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
