John Cottingham

John Cottingham serves as Program Director for the Submarine Shipbuilding Program Support at Serco, with responsibilities including leadership of Team Submarine SHAPM and program management for the COLUMBIA Class Submarine Programs. Prior experience includes roles within the US Navy, notably as a transitioning Nuclear-trained Submarine Captain, where Cottingham directed manpower requirements for key acquisition programs and collaborated on training systems. At NATO, Cottingham led maritime partnership activities and contributed to establishing the NATO Submarine Command. Previous positions also include high-level advisory roles within the Joint Staff regarding NATO and European military policies. Cottingham holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Texas A&M University, a Master's in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, and an MBA from Brenau University.
