John Lafferty is an experienced Marine Engineer currently serving as a Second Engineer aboard the DP2 class Trials Support Ship, SD Northern River, for Serco Marine Services since February 2018. Previous roles with Serco include Third Engineer on a worldwide support vessel and Second Engineer on a Trials Support Vessel focused on torpedo recovery and ROV operations. Academic qualifications consist of a Professional Diploma in Marine Management, Marine Engineering from City of Glasgow College, and a First Class Honours Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from Glasgow Caledonian University.
