Peter Strachan

Peter Strachan is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in strategic leadership and operational delivery across both public and private sectors in the UK and Australia. They served as Director General at the Department for Transport from 2011 to 2013 and held significant roles such as Chair at the National Transport Authority and Non Executive Director at Transport for Wales, both of which they currently occupy. Additionally, Peter's previous positions include Managing Director of Serco Caledonian Sleeper, where they transformed the service into a premium hospitality experience, and Chief Executive of National Express Rail Division in Australia. Peter holds a BA in Geography from the University of Durham and is a member of the Institution of Railway Operators.
