Rob Thompson

Rob Thompson, Ph.D., serves as a System Architect at Sercomm since April 2023, previously holding the position of Director of Network Architecture at Comcast Cable from September 2013 to December 2022. At Comcast, Thompson co-invented and led development for an in-home health assessment tool, significantly enhancing the company's understanding of midsplit service capabilities. With extensive experience in network architecture, Thompson has authored 21 peer-reviewed publications and holds 16 patents. Prior roles include Principal Staff Engineer at Motorola Home & Networks Mobility, where contributions to DOCSIS 3 were recognized with multiple awards. Thompson's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Binghamton University and multiple degrees from Drexel University in Engineering Management and Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering.
