Eslam A. Hefnawy has worked in the software engineering industry since 2011. In 2011, they began working as a Full Stack Developer at gun.io, where they worked remotely across the globe on multiple products and applications with small teams, startups and individual clients, building frontend JavaScript, backend Node.js and full-stack Meteor projects, as well as working extensively with Python, Django and Ruby. In 2013, they became a Software Engineer at Yellow Distributed Technologies, where they helped build and maintain YellowPay, the first Bitcoin payment platform in the Middle East. Eslam'sresponsibilities ranged from backend blockchain integration and development with Python, to AJAX powered frontend UI, with Django development in between. In 2015, they joined Serverless Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer, collaborating on the design and development of Serverless Cloud, the company's first infinitely scalable hosting solution. Eslam then became a Senior Software Engineer, and co-created the Serverless Framework; an application framework for building web, mobile and IoT applications powered by serverless technologies. Eslam lead the effort building and maintaining all features and core functionality of the Serverless Framework, including its commercial SaaS offering, and helped the company grow its monthly open source downloads from 100,000 to over 2 Million and its revenue from $0 to $5+ Million.
Eslam A. Hefnawy obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport between 2009 and 2014.
