Mike Gieger

Co-Founder at Serviam

Mike Gieger brings over 22 years of industry experience to Serviam. He has a rare expertise as an interpreter and negotiator of telecommunication contracts. Before co-founding Serviam, he served as Deputy General Counsel and Vice President of the Law Department at Qwest, where he was involved in negotiating the company’s largest and most complex deals including the largest data center contract in Qwest’s history.

Mike’s legal career began in 1993 where he focused on commercial litigation, corporate transactions and public finance. In 1996, he joined the legal department at BellSouth and was immediately immersed into the complex and ever-changing world of telecommunications. He moved from Atlanta to Denver to hold a variety of leadership positions in the Qwest legal department, eventually serving as head of the entire commercial law group. In this role, he managed more than 80 legal professionals and oversaw legal support for the Business Markets, Mass Markets and Wholesale Markets sales channels. The insight Mike gained from this unique vantage point now allows him to help clients to negotiate greater flexibility and more favorable terms in their contracts.

Mike and his wife, Julie, have six children and live in the Denver area. Mike spends his free time following his kids’ various pursuits but occasionally slips out for some of his favorite outdoor activities: fly fishing, hiking, camping and golf.
