Patrick Kwon

Patrick Kwon is a Senior Battery Engineer at SES AI Corp, focusing on battery transportation standards and recycling methods since September 2024. Concurrently, Patrick serves as a Student Contractor at the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, working on data collection and report compilation related to battery standards and proposing improvements. Prior experience includes roles at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where Patrick researched Li-ion batteries and managed laboratory operations, as well as engaging in undergraduate research in condensed matter physics and physics education. Patrick also interned at Argonne National Laboratory, researching metal oxides. Patrick holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
