Bas Jacobs

Bas Jacobs is currently serving as Junior Legal Counsel for the IRIS² initiative at SES Satellites, focusing on contract negotiation and addressing legal challenges related to corporate liability and EU legislation. Previous experience includes roles at the Ministerie van Defensie as a legal intern providing support on international law, and as a Space Law & Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Leaf Space, where responsibilities included establishing Earth Stations for satellite operations. Additional positions involved internships and clerkships with the European Space Agency, European Civil Aviation Conference, and The Space Court Foundation. Bas Jacobs holds an Advanced LL.M in Air and Space Law from Leiden University, complemented by a Master of Laws in Public International Law and a Bachelor in International Justice.
