Richard Vella

Richard Vella has extensive experience in the military satellite communications sector, currently serving as the Skynet SDW Deputy Head of Space and Senior Manager at SES Satellites since July 2015. Prior roles include Senior Consultant at KBR, Inc. and Technical Consultant as an Independent Consultant in 2013. Vella's earlier experience encompasses significant positions at Knowledge Point, where expertise was provided on military satellite communications, and Serco, where leadership was demonstrated as the Director of Network Operations & Maintenance for Skynet 5. Vella's career began in the Royal Air Force, serving as an Engineering Officer in various capacities, including spacecraft operations for Skynet 4. Richard Vella holds a BSc in Digital Electronics from The Open University and a diploma from the Institute of Directors.
