Vitor Ribeiro

Vitor Ribeiro is a Senior Quantum Communications Engineer currently at SES Satellites. With a robust background in optical communications, Vitor has expertise in transmitters, receivers, and parametric amplification, particularly in noiseless amplifiers. They completed their PhD in Optical Sciences in 2015, where they researched the application of machine learning to optical communications. Prior to their current role, Vitor held research positions at institutions such as Aston University, Chalmers University of Technology, and Instituto de Telecomunicações. Additionally, Vitor demonstrated entrepreneurial skills by leading a team to success in the Iberian CBT competition, winning awards for the best patent and business plan.
