Steve Jang

Advisor at Set Labs

Steve Jang is currently an advisor at Set Labs. Prior to that, they worked as a senior provider informatics analyst at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts from July 2017 to March 2020. In this role, they led in analyzing the Medicare Advantage market, including risk-adjustment, premiums and quality scores. Steve also supervised and mentored interns in the Summer Associate program. Steve has also worked across multiple departments to promote higher quality of care with reduced costs for members. In addition, they provided insightful strategies using claim and premium data to executive leaders to increase premium revenue and achieve the Quadruple Aim of Healthcare.

Before working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Steve was a policy intern at Joint Committee on Health Care Financing from January 2017 to April 2017. In this role, they provided legislative and legal research related to public health and healthcare finance policies that impact key stakeholders in the Commonwealth. Steve also engaged with key external organizations in committee hearings and in meetings with chairpersons and summarized key points most important to the committee for future engagements. Additionally, Steve supported the production of provider price variation report and in the organization of committee hearings on various bills such as Medicaid reimbursements and pharmacy price transparency bills.

Steve Jang has a Master's Degree in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health and a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology and Immunology from The University of British Columbia. Steve Jang is also certified from the Mental Health Commission of Canada in Mental Health First Aid.
