J.J. Guy

Co-Founder & CEO at Sevco Security

J.J. Guy has an extensive work experience in the IT and cybersecurity industry. J.J. is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sevco Security, a startup that focuses on tackling IT security problems. J.J. was also an Advisor at NetRise Inc., where they worked on developing a cloud-based platform for risk assessment in firmware images.

Prior to that, J.J. worked as an Advisor at Infocyte, a company that was acquired by Datto. At Infocyte, they played a key role in developing a new approach to hunting for malware and unauthorized activity within networks.

J.J. has also held leadership roles at JASK (now Sumo Logic), serving as the Chief Operating Officer and later as the Chief Technology Officer. During their time at JASK, the company received several awards and recognition for their SaaS SIEM solution.

Before their roles in the private sector, J.J. worked in the U.S. Federal Government as a Technical Operations Officer, applying technology to national security problems. J.J. also served in the United States Air Force, where they were involved in network management and vulnerability assessments.

J.J. has diverse experience beyond the IT industry, including a summer as a Rayado Ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico.

J.J. Guy has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University from 2008 to 2010.
