As well as standing for Sevenoaks District Council, SDC stands for Seriously Different Council. The three main reasons we stand out are our dedication to customer service, the quality of our services and the way we empower our staff. It’s not just us that think so though, we have been rated in the top 2% of best performing district councils nationally. We are also proud to hold the Investors in People 'Platinum'accreditation - the first local authority and public sector employer to secure the award in May 2016.

Sevenoaks District is large, covering 142 square miles. A huge 93% of that is Green Belt and a lot of the area is rural. However we do have some thriving big towns in the district including Sevenoaks, Swanley, Edenbridge and Westerham.  Sevenoaks District is also known for its Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which account for more than 60 per cent of the District.

We collect the bins and the council tax but we provide so much more to make Sevenoaks District a great place to live, work and visit. We manage development, support local businesses, work to keep the District clean, safe and healthy, provide grants to support local projects and can even MOT your car or help with pest control problems.
