Peter Dittus has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of economics and finance. Peter started their career as an Economist at The World Bank in 1986 and later joined the OECD as a Principal Economist from 1989 to 1992. Following this, they held various positions at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) including Principal Economist, Special Advisor to the General Manager, CIO, Deputy Secretary General, and eventually served as the Secretary General from 2005 to 2016.

In 2017, Peter founded their own consulting firm, arCandide consulting Sarl, where they provided strategic analysis, economic advisory, and negotiation services. Peter also co-founded SFB Technologies, Inc in 2018, where they served as the Chief Economic Advisor and was involved in designing the world's first legal tender cryptocurrency called Sovereign (SOV). Peter continued their involvement in the cryptocurrency field as the Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the SOV Foundation, responsible for developing the crypto currency of a sovereign nation and providing support for a digital ecosystem.

Peter has also contributed their expertise to various organizations and initiatives. Peter served as a Financial Expert at the Asian Financial Cooperation Association from 2020 and became an Expert at the Digital Euro Association in 2021. Additionally, they joined HCS Capital in 2022 and currently holds the position of Member of the Board of Advisors, where they focus on venture capital investments in FinTech, InsurTech, and Cybersecurity sectors across North America, Latin America, and Israel.

Furthermore, Peter acted as a Senior Economic Advisor at Neema - Banking the Unbanked from 2018 to 2019, working on the mission of providing financial services in developing countries based on blockchain technology.

Peter Dittus has a extensive education history. Peter began their education in 1978 at the Universität des Saarlandes, where they obtained a Diplom-Volkswirt degree in Economics in 1982. In 1981, they pursued further studies in Economics at the University of Michigan. Later on, they attended the Universität des Saarlandes again and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Monetary Economics in the years 1982 to 1986. Moving forward, in 2003, they completed the Breakthrough Programme for Senior Executives at IMD. In 2005, they attended IMD again, focusing on Building High Performance Boards. In 2008, they briefly studied Verwaltungsrat (Management) at the University of St.Gallen.
