Alexandra King

Environmental Scientist

Alexandra (Allie) King is an experienced Environmental Scientist currently working at the San Francisco Estuary Institute since October 2018, focusing on hydrodynamic and biogeochemical modeling for San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. In addition, Alexandra has held the position of Research Associate at Cornell University's Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology since June 2017, co-authoring a grant to investigate phosphorus loading mechanisms in Honeoye Lake and developing a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model for water quality. Prior experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Associate and Graduate Research Assistant at Cornell's School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, where Alexandra contributed to various hydrodynamic modeling projects and taught graduate-level courses. Alexandra holds a PhD and an MS in Environmental Fluid Mechanics & Hydrology from Cornell University, as well as a BS in Civil Engineering from Rice University.
