Alvin Tan has over 18 years of experience in the field of technology and strategic foresight, currently serving as the Head, Technology Catalyst at SG Enable since February 2015, where the focus is on enhancing access to assistive technology and promoting adoption among various stakeholders. Prior to this role, Alvin worked for the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore from September 2007 to February 2015 in various consultancy positions, conducting market research, formulating national reports on ICT R&D, and leading initiatives related to social media and sector transformation within social services. Earlier experience includes a role as Research Engineer at the Data Storage Institute, where key projects involved the development of security systems for network storage. Alvin holds a 1st Class Honours degree in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

SG Enable seeks to enable persons with disabilities to live, learn, work and play in an inclusive society. The focal agency for disability in Singapore, it raises awareness on disability issues and facilitates access to disability schemes and services. It brings partners together to share knowledge, collaborate and innovate, striving towards a common goal of building an inclusive Singapore and enabling lives.
