Robert MacNeill

Robert MacNeill is an Associate Principal and Division Head specializing in EMI/Structural Mechanics and Materials at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, with over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering. Since May 2019, Robert has focused on engineering mechanics, nonlinear dynamic finite element analysis (FEA), failure investigation, and testing for diverse clients and projects. Prior to SGH, Robert held the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer and Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Applied Research Associates, where technical research and design management were key responsibilities. Robert's earlier roles include Mechanical Engineer at United Technologies, leading ignition system projects for Pratt & Whitney, and Project Engineer at BAE Systems, contributing to advanced countermeasure development for military aircraft. Educational qualifications include both BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and additional training from Stanford University.
