Nico Overeem

Nico Overeem is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente, where they focus on developing novel biosensors for detecting veterinary pathogens. They recently completed their PhD, during which they developed a method to quantitatively assess the multivalent binding of influenza virus. Additionally, Nico has experience in various leadership roles, including serving as Lijsttrekker for the SGP in Deventer for the 2026 municipal elections. Their background includes work as a project lead at GD Animal Health and a teaching role at Van Lodenstein College. With a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Twente, Nico is committed to bridging research with practical applications.
