Terry Obal

Terry Obal is the Specialty Testing Practice Leader at SGS, where they leverage over 35 years of experience in analytical chemistry, laboratory management, and environmental chemical consulting to support organizations in making informed decisions that meet regulatory requirements. Terry has previously held leadership roles, including Chief Science Officer at Metiri Group and Chief Science Advisor at Bureau Veritas Group. They earned a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Windsor and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from McMaster University. With a commitment to scientific integrity, Terry actively advocates for sound science in the regulatory landscape, striving to ensure the sustainability of the environment and society.
