Andrew Lorek

Andrew Lorek has a diverse work experience in software engineering. Andrew started their career at Infoscape as a Software Engineer in 1999. Andrew then moved on to Bitlocker, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from 1999 to 2001. At Bitlocker, they played a crucial role as the 5th employee of the web application startup.

In 2002, Lorek joined LegalMatch as a Software Engineer Contractor for a few months before moving on to Plumtree Software. At Plumtree Software, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from 2002 to 2006. Andrew'sresponsibilities included working on enterprise applications for the Plumtree portal, focusing on UI development, application logic, and data access code.

Lorek's next role was at BEA Systems, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from 2005 to 2008. During this time, they solely designed and implemented a suite of UI controls for JSF and ASP.NET platforms. The controls utilized AJAX requests and allowed for dynamic functionality.

Later in 2008, Lorek joined Twitter as a Technical Lead, where they worked until 2013. Andrew was involved in various projects, including homepage and site redesigns, integration with third-party platforms, A/B testing, and analytics infrastructure implementation. Andrew also managed and implemented analytics gathering infrastructure for web and mobile apps.

In 2014, Lorek joined Pushd, a mobile app startup, as a Software Engineer. Andrew worked on various app ideas for iOS, watchOS, and Android platforms. Additionally, they maintained the backend and database using Rails and MySQL.

In 2015, Lorek took time off to take care of a family medical emergency and worked on personal projects, primarily an iOS and watchOS fitness app. During this time, they gained knowledge in CoreData, HealthKit, watchOS, iOS graphics, and application design.

Andrew'smost recent position is as a Software Engineer at Seesaw Learning starting in 2016.

Andrew Lorek attended Yale University from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
