Sandy Dunn has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Their most recent role was as Chief Information Security Officer and Advisor at Shadowscape in 2023, where they established performance metrics and built team capabilities. Prior to that, they served as Adjunct Professor at Boise State University, where they mentored and coached students in their cybersecurity career development. Dunn has also held various security leadership roles at BreachQuest, Blue Cross of Idaho, and HP Inc., where they developed and implemented information security initiatives, established enterprise-wide vision and strategy, and matured and evangelized new PSIRT team and processes. Throughout their career, Dunn has displayed a strong focus on establishing security for remote and cloud environments and assets, designing secure systems, and developing policies and procedures for risk evaluation.

Sandy Dunn received a BS degree in Animal Science and Agricultural Economics from Colorado State University in 1991. In 2014, they received their Master's degree in Information Security Management from SANS. Sandy Dunn has also obtained multiple certifications in various fields including security leadership, web application penetration testing, incident handling, and data security investigations. They obtained their most recent certification, "Introduction to Prompt Engineering for Generative AI," from LinkedIn in May 2023.
