Shakhsiyah Education is a research-led Islamic education initiative dedicated to restoring coherence, conviction, and curiosity in learning.
Developed over more than 25 years, Shakhsiyah translates 1,400 years of Islamic educational thought into a contemporary, practice-tested model rooted in Prophetic pedagogy, purposeful dialogue, and holistic human development. Our work responds to the fragmentation of modern education by integrating faith, character, and critical inquiry.
Shakhsiyah’s approach grew out of homeschooling communities led by mothers seeking a more coherent way to educate their children, and was later lived and refined through Shakhsiyah Schools in London and Berkshire, which have served Muslim families for over two decades. These schools continue to embody the principles and practices that underpin the wider Shakhsiyah model.
Today, Shakhsiyah Education extends beyond schools to develop curriculum, cultivate educators, and partner with institutions and communities globally.
Guided by Dr. Farah Ahmed, an educator with over 30 years of experience and a faculty member at the University of Cambridge, Shakhsiyah Education has become a recognised voice in re-imagining Muslim education for the next generation.
