David Tan

David Tan is an Executive Director at Shanda Group focused on private equity and venture capital investments, as well as healthcare sector coverage. He is also an Executive Director at the Chen Institute, which has the philanthropic mission to support research of the human brain and mind.

Previously, David spent over a decade at Lazard and Merrill Lynch in New York. He has advised investment banking clients across diverse industries, including healthcare, energy, consumer and aerospace in transactions involving mergers & acquisitions, structured financing and related strategic matters.

David earned his Ph.D. in Quantitative & Computational Biology from Princeton University. He received his B.Eng. summa cum laude in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University and also has an M.Eng. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
