John Lee

John joined Shanda in 2010 as Chief Tax Officer. Prior to that, he was a Partner at KPMG in charge of the People’s Republic of China tax department. John initially joined KPMG in their Toronto office in 1975 after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Manitoba. He is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. During his career at KPMG, John was a partner at their Vancouver, Hong Kong and Shanghai offices.

John was Co-Editor of the Asia Pacific Taxation Journal until 2010 and has been a frequent speaker on China taxation topics at conferences over the years. Between 1997 and 2010, he lectured on international tax planning at Fudan University.
