I'm Shannon. I love learning about different languages and cultures, meeting new people and listening to their stories - learning a new language (Spanish) quite literally changed my life!

I love sharing my passion for language learning, and I feel privileged to be a part of my clients' own language journeys. I have over five years of experience teaching English and an additional two plus years of experience providing bilingual support for companies/organizations.

I am also an artist - this is an essential part of my identity. I bring creativity to everything I do - even "non-art." When I'm doing art, I work in a variety of media. Muralism has been a very important part of my work. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on Latino/Latin American muralism and social change. I have organized two large-scale murals, one in Minnesota and one in Chile; and I have contributed to several more in Minnesota, Chile, Colombia, and Germany.

As an English teacher and coach, I work with individuals in the following areas:

* Conversation Coaching - In these free-flowing conversations for intermediate to advanced students, I correct your grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation mistakes as they come up. I encourage you to come ready with questions and materials that you would like to review.

* Business English Coaching - I help you with things like emails, conversations with co-workers, résumés, job interviews, and work presentations.

* Everyday English for Adults - I offer structured lessons on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

* IELTS and TOEFL - I teach you the specific skills, strategies, vocabulary, and grammar you need to succeed on these tests.

* Academic Writing Assistance - I help you edit academic papers that you’ve written in English, such as a university thesis.

* Art Immersion Experiences - I assist you with English for art as we work on art projects together.
