Heitor Akio Kimura

Heitor Akio Kimura is a Senior AI/ML Research Engineer and Data Scientist at Shape Digital, focusing on developing artificial intelligence-based systems for industrial asset monitoring and optimization. With a background in Materials Engineering, Heitor has progressively transitioned into Data Science, previously working as a Data Scientist at Taqtile Brasil where they developed machine learning models and data analytics processes. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and are currently pursuing a PhD in Biotechnology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo. Outside of their professional career, Heitor is a scout leader at Hokkaido Scout Group, emphasizing cooperation and sustainable development in educational activities for youth.
