Product Development Leader at Shape

Dave Seiter has extensive work experience in product development and engineering for automotive components. Dave began their career at Chrysler, where they worked as a Product Development Engineer and was responsible for the design and development of exterior components on various vehicle models. Dave also served as a Plant Vehicle Engineer, overseeing the quality and improvement of exterior components for specific truck models and leading the launch of a redesigned Ram Truck.

Seiter later joined NetShape, where they worked as a Product Development Engineer focused on Impact Energy-related automotive components. Their responsibilities included the design and development of low-speed energy absorbers, pedestrian energy absorbers, and bumper systems using different materials to meet regulatory requirements.

In 2010, Seiter moved to Shape Corp. and took on the role of Lead Product Development Engineer. Dave was responsible for the development of Impact Energy Management components for the General Motors Business Unit. Their work encompassed the design and development of K2xx PU & SUV Shutter Bodies, utilizing various materials and employing a material-neutral system approach.

Over the years, Seiter advanced in their career at Shape Corp., eventually becoming a Senior Product Development Engineer. Dave then transitioned into the role of Product Development Leader, further showcasing their expertise and leadership in the field.

Throughout their career, Seiter has demonstrated a strong focus on product development, engineering, and quality improvement, with a particular emphasis on exterior components for automotive applications.

Dave Seiter graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In March 2020, they obtained a certification in Working Remotely from LinkedIn.
