Industrial Program Manager at Shape

John Miller has a diverse range of work experience in the automotive and manufacturing industries. John began their career as an Industrial Engineer at Sparton Engineered Products from 1990 to 1992. John then became the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager at Hart and Cooley, Inc. from 1992 to 1999, where they were responsible for industrial engineering, quality control, and implementing lean processes.

In 1999, John joined Deloitte as a Senior Consultant, utilizing their manufacturing experience and Lean principles knowledge to improve clients' manufacturing processes through kaizen events and waste reduction initiatives.

John then transitioned to Johnson Controls Automotive in 2001, where they held various roles over several years. John initially served as a Continuous Improvement Manager, working with suppliers to reduce costs and incorporating Lean principles into plant layouts and work balancing. John later became a Program Launch Manager, coordinating the successful launch of new programs and insourcing existing ones, and a Maintenance Manager, leading assembly and process maintenance teams.

From 2007 to 2014, John worked at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors as an Account Finance Manager, providing pricing to General Motors, and as a Value Analysis (VA) Lead for North America, identifying cost reduction opportunities through product redesign.

After their time at Yanfeng, John joined LG Energy Solution in 2018 as a Launch Manager, overseeing new program launches and ultimately joined Shape Corp. in 2023 as an Industrial Program Manager.

Throughout their various roles, John has demonstrated strong planning skills, adaptability, and the ability to successfully implement changes and improvements.

John Miller attended the University of Michigan from 1985 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. John then pursued further education at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids from 1996 to 2000, earning a Master of Management degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General.
