Shared Science is a professional collective of sole traders with nearly 100 years’ combined experience across science communications, media and marketing. We work with PROs, universities, independent research organisations and MBIE-funded programmes across Aotearoa and internationally.

We make research understandable, engaging, relevant, and used. By highlighting actionable insights from scientific studies, we show how research findings can inform action and change. Together, we can connect change makers with research that matters to them, enabling evidence-based decisions that reduce risks and maximise impact.

Our talent for spotting a story means we can find a nuanced way to communicate, even when the topic is ‘unsexy’ or findings are unpalatable. We work empathetically and constructively to connect with the values and concerns of target audiences.

Whether you need a full game plan, an in-project partner, or just a quick campaign, a Shared Science partner can jump in when and where you need. Straightforward, smart and stress-free.

We love science and respect your research and will work with you to get communications right. We promise thoughtful, on-target communications delivered on time and to budget.

We're advocates for building communication into research budgets from the start — and happy to help you think through what that looks like for your project.

We're always happy to meet for a coffee - virtually or in person - to talk about your research.
