Scott Bognar has a comprehensive work experience spanning over three decades. Scott has held various senior leadership roles in banking and financial institutions, as well as advisory roles in data collection and analysis.
Starting their career in 1987 at Shawmut National Bank, Bognar quickly rose through the ranks and became the Vice President of Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, and Credit Risk. During their tenure, they successfully developed the Small Business Banking Division and managed a team of Business Bankers. Scott also oversaw lending activities in Connecticut Branches and Mortgage Production Offices.
In 1996, Bognar joined BNY Mellon as Vice President and Team Leader, where they created the Commercial Lending Business for the bank's acquired Putnam Trust Company in the Connecticut Market. Their responsibilities included leading a team, driving sales production, and relationship management. Under their leadership, the credit portfolio grew to over $500 million in commitments.
Moving on, Bognar joined M&T Bank in 2006 as Vice President of Middle Market Banking. During their time there, they successfully developed a new market in Connecticut, generating a commercial loan portfolio exceeding $150 million.
In 2008, Bognar joined Capital One as Senior Vice President, serving as the New England Market Manager for Middle Market/Mid-Corporate Banking. Scott played a crucial role in developing a new territory, expanding market share, and managing a team of relationship managers. Bognar actively participated in credit underwriting, risk management, and cross-selling activities. Scott grew total footings to over $800 million before leaving in 2016.
Following that, Bognar worked at ShareIntel in 2017 as the Senior Vice President of Business Development. The company specializes in providing web-based applications and consulting services for public companies, focusing on obtaining, aggregating, tracking, and analyzing shareholder trading information.
Finally, in 2018, Bognar assumed an advisory role as a Board Member at Cannopoly, a data collection firm specializing in the medicinal and legal recreational cannabis industry. The firm operates in multiple states and Canada, with a focus on buying behaviors, supply chain, and consumer analytics.
Throughout their career, Bognar has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive growth and build strong relationships with clients.
