Richard Goddard

Richard Goddard has over 30 years of work experience in the field of technology operations and IT management. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Technical Operations at Sharp Gaming, where they are responsible for managing teams in various areas such as IT Service, Infrastructure, Networks, Data, Release, and DevOps. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Technology Operations at Newcastle University from 2020 to 2022.

From 2011 to 2019, Richard held the role of Director of IT Operations, IT & Change at RAC, reporting directly to the CIO. In this position, they oversaw IT operational delivery, service management, vendor management, IT finance, and IT risk and governance. Richard also led the IT separation program from Aviva plc during this time.

Before joining RAC, Richard worked as the Director of Operations, BC&IT at Aviva plc from 2008 to 2010. Richard also served as the Head of ITMS at Kingfisher from 2005 to 2008, where they led the creation of a global IT shared service center. Prior to that, they held various IT leadership roles at Allied Domecq, Pizza Hut UK, Accor plc, Oriel Group plc, and Midland Bank.

Richard Goddard studied at The University of Manchester from 1985 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.
