Skip Wood has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Skip started their career in 1987 as a Consumer Banking Manager at First Union Bank. Skip then joined AmSouth Bank in 2001 as the SVP-Consumer Banking Executive, managing multiple retail offices and a staff of 300+. In 2004, they became the President of Rowan Bank, where they successfully led the merger and integration of the bank's operations with the holding company. Skip also chaired the holding company's Marketing Committee and played a significant role in rebranding the company as CommunityOne. In the same year, they joined CommunityOne Bank as the Regional President, where they developed and executed a strategic vision, drove asset growth, and expanded the market share within the region. In 2010, they became the Managing Principal at Sharp Capital Group, LLC SharpTransit, LLC, focusing on private equity, investments, real estate, venture capital, and lending. Finally, in 2012, they joined Sharp Transit LLC as the Executive Vice President.
Skip Wood attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2007 to 2009, where they pursued a degree in Executive Management from the Graduate School of Banking. Prior to that, they studied at Mars Hill University from 1983 to 1987, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
