Russell Johnson has a diverse work experience. Russell co-founded and served as the CTO of SharpCloud Software from February 2012. In November 2016, they joined Turbo-Chart as the Chief Technology Officer. Russell also served as the Chairman of Star Diving Club from January 2017 to June 2021. Additionally, Russell was a member of the advisory board for Safran Software Solutions' Safran Risk from January 2015 to December 2017. Prior to that, they co-founded and owned sharpcloud Ltd from February 2009 to December 2011. Russell also held the position of Vice President (Pertmaster Development) at Primavera Systems from December 2006 to March 2008. Before that, they served as the CTO of Pertmaster Ltd from June 1999 to December 2006, overseeing the design and implementation of Pertmaster Risk Analysis software. Russell's earlier experience includes working in service management at NatWest from March 1997 to May 1999.
Russell Johnson pursued their education starting from 1981 to 1988 at New Mills, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree with a specialization in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Following this, from 1989 to 1993, they attended Lancaster University, where they earned a 1st MEng degree with a focus on Mechatronics, including Mechanical/Electronic Engineering, Software development, Robotics, and Control systems.
