SharpMap is a next-gen mountain map app built to raise the bar for terrain precision - and turn that precision into real safety and decision support in the mountains.

Our mission is to build the world’s most accurate topographic mountain map. We start with a LiDAR-based 3D terrain model, so you can read real slopes, gullies, thresholds and exposure - not smoothed approximations.

This “terrain truth layer” powers a full mountain platform (for hikers to guides and rescue teams) and unlocks what mainstream apps don’t:
• Safety Layers: objective risk context, avalanche-aware insights and pro-grade guidance
• Intelligent Routing: routes tailored to skills, fitness, season and terrain—not just distance and time

Designed for “no signal” use: iOS/Android today, with full offline workflows as a strategic priority. Created by people from the mountains (TOPR/GOPR rescuers, guides, climbers) supported by experienced GIS/IT engineers, and developed with a strong community.

Support/funding: we’re actively seeking financial backing to accelerate safety modules, offline, AI routing and global expansion (Poland + Alps today; next: key ranges worldwide). You can also support the mission via our Patronite -> https://patronite.pl/tatramap
