John Handmaker

John Handmaker has a diverse work experience in the small business lending industry. John is currently the Co-Founder and Chief SBA Lending Officer at Venturus, a direct small business lender specializing in SBA loans. Prior to this, they co-founded Shatterbox, a program aimed at solving the talent gap crisis in the SBA lending industry. As the Chief Strategy Officer, they set the company's direction on capital structure and identified strategic partners.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, John founded and served as the Executive Director of TORCH Small Business Lending. John also held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Q2 Business Capital, a division of First Savings Bank, where they developed and managed successful SBA lending organizations.

Their previous roles include serving as the Executive Vice President at CertusBank Small Business Finance and Bank United, where they built and managed SBA sales teams and contributed to the growth and success of these organizations. John also has experience as a Regional Sales Manager at The Money Store/First Union Business Credit and as a Business Development Officer at The Money Store Commercial Lending.
