Alan Wade has extensive experience in operations and engineering management, currently serving as the Director of Operations at Shawpak since August 2015. Prior to this, Alan held the position of Works and Engineering Director at Riverside Medical Packaging Company Limited from August 1990 to June 2024, where responsibilities included designing and managing cleanroom projects and overseeing multiple departments. Alan's earlier career included roles as a Toolmaker/R&D Engineer at Atlas Engineering Limited and Toolmaker at W.J. Parry Limited, focusing on the design and manufacturing of tools and quality inspection. Alan began professional training as an Apprentice Toolmaker, receiving comprehensive training across various departments. Alan's educational background includes studies at Derby College and Long Eaton School.

Shawpak is a leading manufacturer of a unique range of medical device packaging machinery including rotary thermoformers, rigid blister making equipment and linear 3 & 4 side seal machinery for pouches. Shawpak are based in UK in a newly refurbished state of the art 1200sq/mtr design, manufacture and assembly facility and have offices in San Diego. Over the years, one of our key strengths has been our in-house engineering and design facility. Our philosophy has been to design, develop and build the majority of our production and packaging equipment in-house. This gives us true flexibility, enabling us to offer the service and technical innovation our customers have come to expect.
