David Owen

David Owen is the current Head of Policy at Shef. Prior to this, they were with AvantStay, NoiseAware, and Bay Area Council. David has also served as a Board Member for The Travel Technology Association.

David has extensive experience in public policy, having helped develop the strategic playbook for host mobilization, tax collection/remittance, state and local government partnership, and industry/trade group advocacy while at Airbnb. David has also represented the public policy function on product leadership teams overseeing the host/supply side of the core marketplace as well as teams developing Airbnb Lux and Airbnb Plus products.

David Owen graduated with a JD, cum laude, from University of California, Hastings College of the Law. David also holds a BS in Political Science from University of Utah.
