Abhirup Patra

Abhirup Patra is an accomplished researcher and machine learning scientist with extensive experience in computational materials science and machine learning. At the Georgia Institute of Technology, Abhirup developed a multi-fidelity information fusion machine learning surrogate model and a Gaussian Process Regression guided active learning scheme. Subsequent roles include serving as Senior Machine Learning Scientist and Group Leader at Peptilogics, where Abhirup created advanced frameworks for peptide sequence generation and high-throughput screening workflows. As a Senior Investigator at Roivant Sciences, Abhirup implemented a novel quantum chemistry method that enhanced molecular force field descriptions and developed a Graph Neural Network algorithm. Currently at Shell, Abhirup leads projects utilizing computational methods to address critical business challenges. Abhirup completed a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from Tulane University and Temple University, respectively.
