Akshaya Deshpande

Akshaya Deshpande is an accomplished geophysicist with a diverse range of experience in both academic and industry settings. As a Visiting Faculty at St. Xavier's College, Akshaya delivered lectures on fundamental and applied geophysics for Master’s students. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, focusing on crustal stratification and lithospheric structure, along with contributions as a PhD researcher in seismic signal analysis. Akshaya has also worked as a Processing and Research Geophysicist at Shell, developing workflows for microseismic data analysis and assessing carbon capture and storage sites. Additional experience includes freelance work at Cactus Communications and a solid educational background with a PhD in Seismology, a Master’s in Geophysics, and a Bachelor's in Geology.
