Guido Smit

Guido Smit possesses extensive experience in digital forensics and cyber defense, currently serving as Lead Digital Forensics at Shell since December 2017. Previously, Guido Smit worked at ING from March 2012 to November 2017 in roles including Sr. Incident Analyst Cyber Defence and as part of the Cybercrime Expertise & Response Team, focusing on internal and electronic banking fraud investigations. Earlier experience includes positions as a Digital Forensics Specialist at Hoffmann Investigations and an IT Forensic Analyst with the Korps landelijke politiediensten, where Guido Smit specialized in high-tech crime investigations. Additionally, Guido Smit served as a Military Police Officer with the Koninklijke Marechaussee, enforcing immigration law and working as a narcotics detective. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Digital Investigation & Forensic Computing from University College Dublin and a degree from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
